There are three ways to register to vote: ONLINE Before you get started Online: To cast your vote, you need to be both a citizen of the United States and a resident of Massachusetts. Additionally, you must be at least 18 years old on or before Election Day. If you turn 18 after the specified deadline but before Election Day, you can still register to vote, but it's crucial to meet the registration deadline. Registration is required 10 days before any primaries or general elections, and this deadline also applies if you change your address or political affiliation. If you relocate within Boston or move to the city from another part of the state, you must re-register with your new address. Massachusetts doesn't have a residency waiting period, allowing you to register as soon as you move to your new address. If you're uncertain about your voter registration status in Massachusetts, you can verify it by checking online here. Register to vote Online: The most convenient method for registration is through the state's online system, enabling you to register to vote, update your contact details, and modify your party affiliation. Simply visit the Voter Registration website of the state. Ensure you have: 1. A valid driver's license, learner's permit, or State ID. 2. A signature already on record with the Registry of Motor Vehicles. If you lack the mentioned identification, you can complete the online form and send it by mail.
