As Chair of the Civil Rights Committee, I led the charge to reform the Boston Cultural Council to ensure it better serves our community. Recognizing the challenges of reaching a quorum and the delays in distributing essential funding, I filed and successfully passed an ordinance to reduce the number of council members, enhancing its efficiency and responsiveness. This reform also prioritizes the council's commitment to reflecting Boston's rich diversity, uplifting the voices and experiences of artists from all backgrounds. Passing this ordinance was essential in making it easier for arts and culture grants to reach those who bring creativity and inspiration to our neighborhoods.
