I am proud to have introduced a resolution calling for a hearing to address the unique needs of Boston’s Cabo Verdean American community. Despite the deep-rooted history and invaluable contributions to the city, Cabo Verdeans continue to face disparities in healthcare, education, economic opportunities, and housing affordability. This hearing will create a space for community members, advocates, and city officials to come together, share experiences, and identify meaningful solutions. With International Cabo Verdean Women’s Day approaching, it’s a powerful reminder of the resilience and contributions of the Cabo Verdean community as a whole. This hearing is an important step toward ensuring community voices are heard, needs are recognized, and the Cabo Verdean legacy is preserved in Boston’s policies.
